Celebrity Cricketers fraternity (CCF) is probably the only one of its kind in India including 17-odd teams with film and television industry and media professionals. An internal formula, who likes to be anonymous, says, “I think it is to be done with the widespread mentality of Malayali. I don’t think it can be easily done in any other language film industries in India because they define clearly defined hierarchies.” The league formed in 2011 and registered as CCF in 2018-19 is ready for another first. It launched the fraternity tournament of celebrity cricketer in The Last Man Stands (LMS) format, which was closed on 19 April.

Although it is cricket, it looks like a completely different game with its vastly different rules. “This is a new format, but it is still cricket with all elements. We were thinking what to do separately when we come with LMS. It is the biggest tournament for enthusiasts in the world,” CCF president says filmmaker Anil Thomas. A consortium of 17 teams is made up of players from various departments of CCF film production like producers, directors, singers, choreographers etc. The CCF LMS tournament has 12 teams in the tournament and 120-year-old players for the tournament, 400 amateur cricketers have been selected from around CCF.

The tournament will be played from 19 April to 25 April at St. Paul College, Kalamasari, Maidan. It will be open to the public
