Chowrasta’s new single ‘Padara Sami’ will be launched on August 9

Crossroad (Chowrasta in Hindi) can take you in different directions. Hyderabad-based music band Chowrasta awakens your wanderlust with their new song ‘Padara Sami’. The song, released on August 9, coincides with their three-month US tour starting August 17. Band founder Yashwant Nag enthusiastically sings, “Padara Padara Sami, Munduku Padara Sami, Kondalu Konalu Rammantunnayi, Veladam Padara Sami (‘Come come sir, go ahead, the mountains and valleys are calling, let’s go’). Yashwant is a composer, singer, arranger and lyricist who also plays keyboards and guitar. The four-member band includes bass guitarist Anantha Krishnan, drummer Akshay Athreya and guitarist Manuj Nataraj.

The song is an important chapter in the journey of the five-year-old band. A few lines of ‘Padara’ were written two years ago as a promo for Chowrasta Busking. To fulfill Yashwant’s dream of traveling and performing in villages, the band collaborated with MyVillageShow channel and traveled in a bus to showcase their art.

Now, as the US tour is about to begin, music lovers are demanding the full song of ‘Padara’; Yashwanth feels this is the ideal time to complete the promo song.Padara Sami Ani Cheppi Prapancham Anta Tirugalani Fix Aayi Poyamu Yashwant says, “We decided to explore the world.” Promoting a spirit of adventure and discovery, the song inspires you to connect with nature and expand your horizons.

Yashwanth talks about the band’s journey. They enjoyed great success with original songs, especially ‘Maya’, but struggled after singer Ram Miryala left the band. “Clients would call us for bookings, but when they realised Ram was not with us, they would hang up. For any band, the frontman is an important member, but the other members play an equally important role and work hard to fulfil their passion.” The line-up changed again after guitarist Srinivas left. “Music bands are an emotion, like a family. Some members may leave, but the family stays with the journey.”

One of the special features of Chowraasta is that the profits are equally shared among its members. “The profits are equally shared among us; this has been the practice since the beginning of the band.

Podcast Project

Yashwanth and Ram Miriyala have also collaborated for a new film Paellam PillagaChowrasta’s previous song ‘Swetcha’ is also being reworked as the title track for a new project, the Chowrasta Podcast. “I want to speak from my heart because I have seen a lot on this journey. Chinnappudu Nunchi Nerchukunna Musicham, Band Lo Memu Kooda Unnamu Kada Aani Oka Avedana Tony Cheppalani (We have learned music since childhood, I want to express this pain through the podcast that we too belong to the band.)
