Now amidst the ongoing controversy, an old video has resurfaced, in which Nayanthara is seen apologizing to Dhanush on the stage after receiving the award. The viral video is from the 2016 Filmfare Awards, where Nayanthara won the Best Actress Award. In her victory speech, the actress shared Dhanush’s criticism of her performance and apologized to him. He also promised to work harder and improve next time.
He started his speech by expressing his gratitude towards his fans and crew. “Thank you Filmfare for the Most Iconic Black Female. Like everyone, I have a long list of thanks, but I’ll keep it short. First of all, thank you to all my fans for supporting me through my ups and downs. They have always believed in me. Dhanush, who was sitting in the audience, was seen laughing at this confession.
While the old video shows Nayanthara apologizing to Dhanush, she criticized him in the open letter, mentioning how his harshness affected her. He wrote, ‘I came to know from the film corridors that your ego was deeply hurt after the film became a blockbuster.’
Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, produced by Dhanush, starred Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Directed by Vignesh Shivan, the film was successful at the box office.
