In a much awaited category at the 30th Critics Choice Awards, ‘All V Imagine Az Light’, directed by Payal Kapadia, Lost the Best Foreign Language Film Award ‘Emilia Perez’, a Spanish-Language French Musical Crime by famous filmmaker Jacks Audiard.
Despite the disadvantage, ‘All V Imagine Az Light’ has gained significant recognition, which creates waves in the international film industry.
‘All V Imagine Az Light’, the first Indian film to win the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024, has been widely praised for its developed story and powerful performances.
The film stars Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chhaya Kadam and tell the poignant story of a distressed nurse and her youth roommate while facing their wishes during a visit to a beach city.
As an official Indo-French co-production, it marked a significant milestone in international cinema, with a proud moment for Indian fans with joining the Critics Choice Awards.
However, the award for the Best Foreign Language film went to ‘Emilia Perez’, a music crime drama directed by Jacques Audiards.

Based on her opera Librato in Audiards, the film follows a recreational journey of a Mexican cartel leader (starred by Carla Sophia Gaskon), attaching a lawyer (Zo Saladana) to help a woman to help infection.
The film’s premiere was at the Cannes Film Festival of 2024, where it received the Jury Award and the Best Actress Award for her exceptional female actors, including Gaskon’s groundbracking performance.
Emilia Perez has also made history in major awards programs such as Academy Awards and Golden Globes, where it earned several nominations and praise.
It was the recipient of many prestigious awards including Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe Awards.
The film, related to subjects of gender identity, crime and social expectations, is praised for its direction, performance and developed music.
The 30th Critics Choice Awards ceremony was held on 7 February, Friday (in India on Saturday morning) at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, which was streamful in India on Lionsgate Play.
