Hip Hop Tamizha rocked their hometown with a spectacular performance at CODISSIA Grounds last weekend. The concert attracted not only music lovers, but anyone looking for a new experience. After rocking venues abroad earlier this year, Coimbatore’s own Hip Hop Adi returned with a dream: to perform in his hometown, a cherished venue, and reconnect with his roots.

Fine dust glittering with dazzling light was swirling in the air, ‘Woo!’ and ‘Yes!’ The roar of more than 20,000 fans in the field filled the atmosphere with excitement. The open field turned into a pulsating sea of color and sound.
As the calm blue sky turned cool and the stage turned red and fiery, the Dragon of the Night took the stage. Breaking the gloom with the opening notes of ‘Takkaru Takaru’, the line ‘The Hip Hop Tamizha Movement’ was displayed on the giant screens, further energizing the crowd. Amidst the electrifying atmosphere, the crowd chanted ‘Enada Periya K-Pop, Hip-Hop Theriyuma?’ Like cheered our local boy with slogans. Enhancing the feeling of night.
As the concert introduced lively tracks like ‘Taakkunu Takkunu’ and ‘Kadhal Cricketu’, the crowd started dancing to the energetic tunes. Tunes like ‘Kadhal Oru Aagayam,’ ‘Kannala Kannala,’ and ‘Sakkarakatti’ and fast numbers including ‘Hai Sona Pothum’ and ‘Pakkam Vanthu’ kept the momentum of the evening going.

“The background screen with scenes of smoke bubbles floating around created a new atmosphere of being in love,” she says.
As the night progressed, the songs broke and kuthu The heartbeats took over. Adi, clad in lungi, sang ‘Kadhalikadhe Manse’ and ‘Enna Nadanthalum’ and the crowd danced vigorously.

The concert also highlighted the importance of traditional arts where 30 local artistes performed Parai attam.

Dragon resumed his performances, delivering chart-topping hits like ‘Chennai City Gangsta’ and ‘Kerala Song’ and independent tracks including the acclaimed ‘Iraiiva’.
As the concert ended, he waved to fans from a tuktuk decorated with sparklers. The energy reached its peak with high-octane tracks like ‘Meesaya Murukku’ and ‘Kovai Anthem’. Moments after the last song, he started ‘Vaadi Pulla Vaadi’ which pulled the fans back into the field. The track became a crowd favorite and turned the evening into an unforgettable, effortless encore.
