New Delhi: Critics and filmmakers were equally influenced by Shahid Kapoor and Pooja Hegde’s action thriller Dev, which premiered on 31 January. According to the initial estimates of the Sacillaq, the film earned Rs 5 crore on its first day, which was somewhat disappointing. Shahid’s last dramatic film, ‘Terry Baton Meen Aisa Ulja Zia’, was a significant decline, with an initial weekend gross of Rs 6.7 crore.
On its first day, Rawson Andrews’ ‘Dev’ had 10.24% occupancy in Hindi. Although the presence for the morning show was 5.87%, it increased by 9.18% for the afternoon show and 9.77% for the evening show. Even though these are only estimates, the last total can go up with the onset of weekends.
A better indication of the film’s potential box office Techway will be a weekend performance. ‘Dev’ has a chance to improve its figures over the weekend, if it gains momentum with night and weekend shows.
Competition at box-office
The initial figures of Dev were not as impressive as the recently released record-breaking Hindi film ‘Sky Force’, which became the most open picture of 2025. However, it is estimated that ‘Dev’ will secure the second place, behind the ‘Emergency’ and ‘Fateh’, which earned Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 2.4 crore respectively.
