Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh has once again criticized the Telangana government over the notice received by him. The singer posted a long video on Instagram in which he explained how it was easy for him to change the lyrics of his songs. Speaking during his Ahmedabad concert he also revealed that he does not consume alcohol nor does he advertise for it. The singer also called for a pan-India movement to ban liquor, which generates huge revenue. He promised that if that happened he would stop singing songs about alcohol. Diljit shares ‘good news’ with fans
The clip starts with Diljit saying that he has good news, which is that he did not receive any notice during the Ahmedabad show. He said he had more good news – he wouldn’t be singing any songs about alcohol. He attributed this to the dry state of Gujarat. The singer then explained how he has sung many devotional songs till now and has released two more songs in the last few days, but no one is talking about it.
Diljit neither drinks alcohol nor promotes it
Diljit also told how there are many songs about alcohol in Bollywood, but he has sung only three to four songs. The singer further said, “Even today I will not sing such songs. What happened
Diljit came into limelight when the Telangana government issued a legal notice directing him not to perform songs promoting alcohol, drugs and violence during his concert in Hyderabad. This notice was issued a few hours before his performance on Friday. His songs, such as Patiala Peg and Panchtara, were specifically mentioned in the complaint.
About Diljit Dil-Luminati Tour
After Ahmedabad, Diljit will perform in Lucknow on November 22 as part of his Dil-Luminati Tour. After this he will go to Pune to protest on 24th November, Kolkata on 30th November, Bengaluru on 6th December, Indore on 8th December and Chandigarh on 14th December.
