Bollywood actress Divya Dutta, who played Preity Zinta’s best friend Shabina Ibrahim in ‘Dabangg 3’. Veer Zaararecently revealed that she was initially afraid that the role would typecast her as the usual “heroine’s best friend”. “I was sitting at the premiere of the film holding my mother’s hand. It’s a Yash Chopra film, so the whole world would be watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But, at the same time, I was worried that I would be stereotyped as the best friend of all the actresses in the industry. There is a herd mentality in our industry. Everyone runs after the one who looks good and leaves the rest behind,” she said during a conversation with Siddharth Kannan.
She further said, “During the interval of the film, I ran away holding my mother’s hand. Mother said that she was very proud of my acting. I said, ‘Thank you mother, I also feel very good to be a part of this film.’ When we came out, I hid a little behind them. I did not want any friend to call me because my dream was to become ‘Yash Chopra’s heroine’. When I was hiding there, Yash uncle saw me and called me. When I went to him, I was surrounded by a crowd and people surrounded me.”
