Malhotra told PTI on Monday soon after the Oscar announcement, “The country that has most visual effects compared to any other country is India. India is working than more Indian films (on VFX) in any major Hollywood film. It’s a unique reality.”

Paul Lambert, Stephen James, Rice Salcombe and Gird Nepzar won the Oscars in the category for Dennis Villainuway-Directed Science-Fi Classic. In his speech, Lambert accepted VFX vendors DNEG and WYLIE CO, who helped create the land of Arrakis, a fictional desert planet, in which the film is set, a reality.

Malhotra, whose company has worked on the VFX of Oscar winners such as “X Machina”, “Blade Runner 2049”, “First Man” and “Tetnet”, Indian films open in a big way in the field.

“Our artists and our abilities are already ahead that are using Indian filmmakers … We do not have enough big views LED effect projects here and this is where we are expecting to reach the next level.”

Malhotra hopes that there will be a time soon when the Indian viewer and filmmaker “start making visual effects a large part of his story and vision”.

“It’s a matter of time … we will find that opportunity very soon.”

The Academy Award Jeet for “Dune: Part Two” brought a sense of verification as it “comes from the competitive group of those who have done untrustworthy work to all”, he said.

“These awards are very complex to win. It is a feeling of relief and enthusiasm as we have yet been validated again. There is great pleasure and positive feeling between teams around the world.”

Malhotra said that he holds Villainuve in a high relationship. He has collaborated with the director in the first films, including the first part of the “Tibba”.

He said, “We also worked closely with him on ‘Blade Runner’, which we also got an Oscar on his film. And when he went to make ‘Tibba’ … From the first phase, we cooperated very closely and actually tried to take our vision on the board and he was trying to make the world,” he said that his work is to make talent and technology to unleash.

Asked about Lambert’s shout for Dineg at the Oscar on Sunday, Malhotra said that he and the artist go a long way.

“When he got an Oscar (for ‘Blade Runner) he was a DNEG representative and worked with us for a few years and we have done some incredible things, including films like’ First Man ‘… He continues to amaze in terms of his imagination and ability to execute these different types in full high quality results.”

Discussing the AI influence on the industry, Malhotra said that it is just another type of technology that is going to provide electricity to applications and technology in the past.

“We see AI as an opportunity because we believe that more efficiency or result is the ability to create a faster,” he said.

Asked about the troubles faced by the technicler group, which caused a job loss in the company’s Indian VFX branch, Malhotra said he would not like to comment on his problems, but accept “artistry and talent”.

“From his perspective, I am sure he had some issues with epidemic and attacks that have happened, which have created some issues among them, their investors and their backchers. As far as DNEG is concerned, our main focus is a tireless search that we do on day -day basis.

“Developing new talents, investing in new technology. It is going to be 30 years since it starts.
