Bollywood buffs cannot stop binging, and the internet cannot stop talking. Aryan Khan’s The Ba *** DS of Bollywood is everywhere. From Parviz to Jaraj, every character is stealing heart, and DJ Adam is no exception. The character played by Neville Bharucha has gone viral, and we caught him to talk about one of the biggest shows in India, and it was like working with Aryan Khan and Star-Stad Cast.
Q. Can you tell us a little about your journey, how no one has played a role in India in India?
Neville Bharucha: good fortune! But honestly, I audition for a lot of advertisements and some TV scenes. I get some calls for the web series, but I usually never take them. When I first got a call for this show, my instinct was to say, “Sorry, I can’t do it.” At that time, I was a school teacher and told them that I did not have time. But then I was told, “This is a good web chain, it is worth giving a shot.”

I also said, “Look, my Hindi is not so great, so perhaps I am not right.” When he told me that this is an all-English part, and it changed everything. I was still considering whether to do it or not, but my wife and some close friends encouraged me, saying, “Just go for it, you will find out. Whatever will mean what will happen.”
As in luck, I was flying to Singapore with my wife the next day, and since I took place in Bandra, I decided to leave for auditions. Casting director, Karan, was fantastic and made the whole process so smooth. I remember that I was getting out of that flat and telling my wife, “I think I am going to receive it.” And of course, a month later, this happened.
Q. Your scenes of the show are going viral on the Internet. Do you have a personal favorite moment or aspect of your character that really stood for you?
Neville Bharucha: My character and I am very different in real life. Apart from English speaking bit, we do not have much. I was really loved, however, there was style. Clothes and hair were far away from anything that I ever wear personally, and it made it exciting. They liked me really good. I would never think of wearing those organizations or that hairstyle in a million years, so it was very fun to step into that look.
Q. Since you come from the background of a work, do you get to use anyone on the set, or did it change the way this role?
Neville Bharucha: I think the improvisation really helps me stay in the moment. This makes me a better actor and artist because you are constantly reacting to everything around you. Aryan was fantastic in that regard as a director. He is very clear in communicating his vision, but at the same time, he is really excited about what you want to try. He was always curious to see what I could bring to the table, and it made the process even more fun and collaborative.
Q. Everyone is curious that it was like working with Aryan Khan. Is he really as serious as people imagine?
Neville Bharucha: He really smiles very much! The “serious” side you see is probably when the cameras are on it. He is one of us, always laughs and jokingly. He is hot, sociable and incredibly smart. What was really standing for me how he listens to everyone, no matter how big or small his contribution. He is acceptable, operated well, and as an actor, you want to give your best naturally because he always gives his best. Working with him was a wonderful experience.
Q. The show has a big and talented artist. Did you pick up or learned anything from your co-actors during the shooting?
Neville Bharucha: They were all incredibly sweet, welcome and down-to-back. Each actor on the set is so proficient and brings a ton experience. Many of my scenes were with Manoj Pahwa Sir, and working with him was a complete explosion. What a man! Even read the first table, I felt a connection, and until the first day of shooting, our chemistry was clear.
Q. This show firmly touches the inner formula -outsider debate in the industry. What would you like to say to outsiders who dream of seeing their name in the initial credit of a big show or make their mark in comedy?
Neville Bharucha: It honestly is the best feeling in the world to see its name in the initial credit of anything in the world, right now is the biggest show in India. Take every opportunity that comes in your way. You never know where it can take you, and when you are there, be sure to enjoy every moment.
Q. Has life changed for you since the show fell and your scenes have started trending?
Neville Bharucha: Honestly, nothing has changed for me. I think I would say that things have changed when all my improvised shows are sold!
Q. Looking further, what kind of roles or projects are you expecting to move forward?
Neville Bharucha: Haha, you are asking the wrong person! I am just excited to see what is in the pipeline. For now, I am focusing on my regular improvised classes and shows with my improvised group. We perform at Habitat in Mumbai every month. I hope this exposure will make more people eager about improvise and inspire them to experience a live show. There is a joke among my friends: most people work for acting jobs, but I inspire acting giggs to do more work, which is not far from the truth. I also perform a lot of corporate drugs and training in the corporate world, implementing the doodle philosophy, and it keeps me busy and excited.
