Now, in an exclusive chat with NDTV, the director of the historical drama reveals its connection with the cult classic, cinderThe director was asked to throw light on the dialogues of freedom at midnightOn which he has given great importance to the dialogues written by the famous writer duo Salim Javed in his year-long career. Nikhil clarified that he has paid tribute to the works of the iconic duo Salim Javed, not only through the dialogues but in many other instances as well. Nikhil said, “I did not speak only on dialogues. Salim Javed Sir is mentioned in many meetings. I would like that what I am about to say, people should take it in the same spirit as it is intended. [I did not speak only about the dialogues. Salim Javed sir is mentioned in many meetings. However, I want people to take whatever I say in the spirit that it is intended.],

Nikhil Advani said, “When Rajendra Chawla came to me and said, ‘The society is not enjoying this scene which is happening at the Viceroy’s house, we will roam around. This is Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru, how will this scene be done?” So I said, ‘It will be a very lotus scene Rajendra, it will be a very lotus scene, it has been written that will blow your mind.’ [When Rajendra Chawla came to me and said, ‘I am not able to understand that for this scene, we all will roam around the Viceroy’s house! This is Sardar Patel and Jawaharlal Nehru. How will you do this scene?’ Then I said, ‘It will be a wonderful scene, Rajendra, it will be a wonderful scene. We have written mind-blowing things.’],

Finally he revealed what kind of characters he had imagined freedom at midnight As in “Thakur,Victory,Veeru“, And “Gabbarfrom the movie cinderHe further added, “I am saying again that I hope people will take it the way it should be said. So I said, ‘Look, let us assume that Gandhi is a Thakur, you mean Sardar, Jawahar is Jai and Veeru and Jinnah is Gabbar. Now I am making this. [So I said, ‘Look, just assume (Mahatma)Gandhi as Thakur, you mean Sardar(Patel) and Jawahar (lal Nehru) as Jai and Veeru and (Muhammad Ali)Jinnah as Gabbar. And I am making this drama.’],
