For the first time in the country, the Andhra Pradesh government has started a WhatsApp governance called ‘Maina Mitra’. The services were formally launched at their residence in Amarvati’s Anvalli on Thursday for the IT Electronics and Communication and Real Time Governance (RTG) Nara Lokesh. The state government has allocated an official WhatsApp number 9552300009 to avail services.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Lokesh said, “I have done a 3,132 km padyatra which is called young Galam. This idea started from Padyatra. These days in the press of a button, we are watching a film, food is given, a taxi is coming. The question arises as to why the government does not come to the people. I thought that day I should accept the challenge. This is the reason that WhatsApp governance is being launched with slogans in the hands of ‘Maina Mitra’ government and people, and we are government of people.

Mr. Lokesh said that in the first phase, the government was starting 161 public services through Maina Mitra -regime and another 360 services in the second phase. He said that he was planning to provide all government services through this WhatsApp based “Mana Mitra” and if necessary, the government will enable new laws.

The minister said that an agreement with Meta was signed in Delhi on 22 October last year. And now, the government was starting services after three months and 9 days of the MoU.

Civil services in the first phase

Mr. Lokesh said that 36 departments will have to be associated with WhatsApp governance. It was a very complex task. In the first phase, the government was providing 161 civilian services. In the second phase, it will start 360 more services. WhatsApp governance was a bridge between the government and the people.

The government will take responsibility for providing certificates in real time. When certificates are provided, they will have a special QR code. If someone scans the QR code, the link will go to the AP government’s website. This eliminates the possibility of fake certificates.

“We have decided to bring blockchain technology soon. Now, we have brought many services with revenue, municipal and settlement services. In the second phase, we will also apply it through AI Bot and Voice. We are the first states in the world to implement WhatsApp governance. It needs to be further improved. Still a lot to learn. We will fix the shortcomings and make it better. We are also taking information from all departments in real -time rule and are codification, to provide easy services. We will make it an ideal product in six months. We will provide all the services, ”Mr. Lokesh said.

Meta India vice -president and chief Sandhya Devathan said, “We have created WhatsApp governance to make it easier for people to use. We will make the mind Mitra even better with the Andhra Pradesh government. ,

Ravi Garg, director of WhatsApp and head of India, said that he was working with several state governments across the country. However, there was no place where all types of services were provided on the same platform. “We will further develop the mind Mitra WhatsApp governance and provide more services.” Mr. Garg said that people can easily use civil services by typing “hi”.
