Heidi Klum, husband Tom Kaulitz visit ET for Halloween. But how did they do it?

Klum and Kaulitz arrive at the model’s annual Halloween party as the female and male versions of E.T. from Steven Spielberg’s 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. To pull off this incredible Halloween feat, the couple started getting ready at 11 a.m.

While on the red carpet, the former Victoria’s Secret Angel explained that she was inspired by the outfit because ET has been “a part of most of our lives,” adding that she is a “big fan” of People.

,[I] Thought about the universe in a different way, and I thought ET was so cute and how he was walking around and all those moments when ET was dressed up with a wig and everything, so I thought becoming ET Will be fun and especially two to watch,” she told the outlet.

Their costumes were complete with glowing fingers and motorized headpieces with moving mouths and eyes. As The New York Times reports, a member of Klum’s crew controlled the headpiece remotely.

Noting that the costume was difficult to take off and put on again, Klum explained that she would have to wear an adult diaper. “Maybe I’ll never need to use diapers, but at least this way, I don’t have to think about it,” Klum said.

Klum got the idea to dress up as E.T. just weeks after her 2023 Halloween event. “They don’t have any genitalia,” she said of the aliens, “I like this whole idea of, like, we’re all the same.”

Since the knees of the dress were at foot level, the red carpet had to be staged several feet in the air. This gave the impression that Klum and Kaulitz were walking around on the floor with ET’s crooked legs.
