Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series ‘Hiramundi: The Diamond Bazaar’ has recently released on Netflix. Actress Aditi Rao Hydari’s strong performance has been seen in this series. Meanwhile, the actress has expressed her desire to work in a mystery thriller film.
Hydari was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series ‘Hiramundi: The Diamond Bazaar’. Her work in period drama began with Bhansali’s 2018 film Padmaavat, in which she played Mehrunisa, wife of Alauddin Khilji. Meanwhile, she also acted in period drama shows like Taj: Divided by Blood and Jubilee.
Hydari said in an interview that I am lucky that I got the opportunity to be the face of these wonderful period dramas. For some reason, people and directors think it works for me and I’m part of it. I also feel very comfortable. Perhaps it is my love for music, dance, history and culture.
Hydari further explained that period dramas take you to a place that is truly Indian. Hiramandi also has this whole Indian art of beauty, dance, music. I really enjoyed it. The artist in me also wants to play diverse and contemporary roles.
Haidari also wants to work on projects like martial arts based film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and psychological thriller film Gone Girl. Many people associate Bhansali’s name with grandeur and flamboyant performances but believe that Bhansali is also a deeply working director.
