India Got Latent Ro: Comedian Samay Raina appears in front of Maharashtra Cyber Cell

Mumbai: Comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina appeared in front of Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Friday in connection with the ongoing case around their controversial YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latant’.

Raina first appeared in front of the cyber cell on 24 February and was seen entering the Maharashtra Cyber Cell office today.

The investigation center is around allegations of promoting vulgarity and pornographic material through its show.

The dispute occurred earlier this month, when an FIR was lodged against several people associated with ‘Got latent’ of India including Raina, Utubars Ashish Chanchalani, Ranveer Allabia and others.

The FIR accused the show of sexually explicit discussions and promoting pornographic content which was accessible to the public through YouTube.

In the light of the ongoing legal issues, Raina decided to revive his visit to India. He took the news on Instagram to share the news, assuring the fans that the refund would be provided for the tickets.

“Hello friends, I am starting my India Tour again. You all will get a refund soon, soon you will meet,” he wrote.

Joint Commissioner of Police Ankur Jain confirmed that the notice was served to several persons nominated in the FIR, including Raina, Chanchalani, Allahabadia and others.

“We have given notice, but they have not yet complied. We are looking at the matter according to the legal process and will take action accordingly,” Jain said.

Prior to this February, YouTuber Ashish Chanchalani appeared before the Guwahati Crime Branch in February, where his statement was recorded.

Similarly, Rakesh Sawant, who appeared in Got latent in India, was called by Maharashtra Cyber Cell to record his statement on 27 February.

Controversial remarks were made by Ranveer Allabia during an episode recently.

The comment about a contestant from Allahabadia went viral quickly to include his parents and met with widespread criticism on social media.

The podcaster later released a public apology, accepting that his comment was not only unfair, but a lack of humor.

Allahbadia said in his apology, “My comment was not just unfair, it was not even a funny. Comedy is not my fort, I am just here to say sorry.”

He also addressed concerns about his influence on young audiences, promising to use his platform more responsibly in future. “Family is the last thing I will ever humiliate,” he said.
