India-Pakistan cricket match ‘an insult to an insult’: Aicwa condemns BCCI’s decision, asks people of India to boycott

Mumbai: The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned the India -Pakistan cricket match to be held in Dubai on Sunday.

The body has already banned Pakistani artists from working in India, and he had called for a boycott of Indian films, who acted Pakistani artists.

Earlier, Aicwa had banned actor-singer Diljit Dosanj’s film ‘Sardar Ji 3’. The body said that the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given priority to money on the pride of the country, an attempt to normalize relations with a terrorist nation under the dress of the game. He called the match a sheer betrayal for the sacrifice of our soldiers and citizens, who lost their lives for Pakistan-posed terrorism.

He further mentioned, “On behalf of the entire Indian film industry and people of India, Aicwa, Honorable Prime Minister of India, makes a strong and immediate appeal to Shri Narendra Modi ji, immediately to intervene and cancel the match with Pakistan. Innocent citizens who sacrificed their lives for India.

Earlier, Anulag Thakur, who is a Parliament (MP) member for Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, said that it is a compulsion for India to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup as the tournament is organized by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) or ICC. He said that India does not play bilateral tournaments with Pakistan.

However, India boycotted the 1986 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka due to diplomatic relations and security concerns at that time. India also took out of the 2008 Champions Trophy in Pakistan citing security concerns.
