Another Pixar film, Incredibles 2, still holds the top spot for the biggest animated domestic opening with $182.7 million.

Meanwhile, Inside Out 2 also had a great opening weekend overseas. The same report also stated that the film made a record collection of $140 million. Thus, the global total of the film now stands at $295 million.

Inside Out 2 has received rave reviews since its release and currently enjoys a 92% rating. An excerpt from the film’s review by Hindustan Times reads, “The sequel gives Sadness a chance to be the unsung hero, and Joy the emotional anchor. When anxiety pushes her over the edge, Joy faces an existential crisis. She is in denial at first, and then heartbreakingly reveals that growing up means ‘feeling less happy’.”
