Veteran lyricist and screenwriter Javed Akhtar recently entered an oral spot with a person on social media, as he was accused of Fat-Shemming Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma.

All this started when Javed Akhtar posted a praise note for Virat Kohli on X (East Twitter). He praised Virat for his performance in the Champions Trophy semi -final match against Australia.

Javed Akhtar wrote, “Virat has once again proved that it is the strongest pillar of today’s Indian cricket building. Hats of !!” Reacting to his post, an X user said, “If Virat is the strongest pillar, Rohit Sharma is the heaviest pillar? Shame on you, Javed Saab, for the Indian captain for fat-shamming.”

The comment did not sit well with Javed Akhtar, who slammed the troll for false allegations. He wrote, “Shut up, Tum Cockroach. I have great respect for Rohit Sharma and all the great Indian cricketers of testing history. What kind of low and pathetic lair is that you are claiming that I have ever said a word against the dignity of a great player like Rohit.

For this, the lyricist replied, saying, “I am a cricket lover and a piggish as you can’t stop me from showing my happiness when my team wins or any of our players gave a great performance.
