Lopez and Affleck have maintained a good relationship with Garner, to whom the actor was married for more than a decade. Together, they are co-parenting their children and are often seen at school functions and outings around Tinseltown. According to a report from the Daily Mail, Garner is prioritizing Affleck’s well-being and offering support in hopes of improving things with JLo.

“JLo is confiding in Jen because she knows she’s one of the only people in the world who can understand what she’s going through,” a source close to the situation told the Daily Mail on Tuesday. Garner’s need for support seems very legitimate because, as the source points out, she’s been through it herself with the same man. The source further mentions that even though the situation was different, it was still the same man, and no one could understand him better than him.

The insider also mentioned that Garner is really trying hard to support the couple because she really cares about Lopez and doesn’t want the relationship to deteriorate due to the ongoing investigation. Both Jens are worried about Ben and fear that his ‘depression’ may push him back into drug addiction. Affleck has spoken openly about his regrets over the end of his 13-year marriage, expressing feelings of ‘shame’ and ‘regret’.
Speaking to The New York Times in 2020, the actor said, “I drank relatively normally for a long time. What happened was that when my marriage was falling apart, I started drinking more alcohol. This was 2015, 2016. My drinking, of course, led to more marital problems.”
