Days after actor Suriya’s Tamil fantasy epic CanguwaIt received extremely negative reviews after its theatrical release, with actor and Suriya’s wife Jyotika supporting the film, saying that such negative reactions on the first day seemed like ‘propaganda from many groups’.
On Sunday (November 17, 2024), Jyotika wrote a note on her official Instagram handle, saying that she was writing as Jyotika and a cinema lover and not as Suriya’s wife. ,Canguva – A spectacle in the cinema. Suriya, I am so proud of what an actor you are and how you dared to dream of taking cinema forward,” he said, before acknowledging criticisms of the film’s noisy and present-day parts. “Definitely the first 1/2 hour doesn’t work and the sound is crackly! Flaws are a part of most Indian films, so it makes sense, especially in a film like this that experiments extensively! N This is only the first 1/2 hour of the full 3 hours. But to be honest, it’s a complete cinematic experience! Camera work and execution never seen before in Tamizh cinema, @vetripalanisamy (sic)” he added.
“I am surprised by the negative reviews from the media and some of the fraternity, because they have not done it at this high level for the most non-intellectual big budget films I have seen before with old stories where women are chased. Yes, there are dialogues with double meaning.” Jyotika said that it seems that critics have forgotten the positive aspects of the film. “The women’s action sequences in the second half and the young boy’s love and betrayal for Kangwa? I think they forgot about the good parts while reviewing.
“Now it makes me massively wonder whether anyone should ever read, listen to or believe these! It’s sad that they chose so much negativity for this Canguwa The first day, even before the first show was over (looked like a promotion for many groups) whereas it really deserves appreciation for the concept and effort put in by the team to make it 3D and such a spectacular scene. Hai!” The team behind Kanguva is proud of their film and the people behind the negative reactions are doing nothing for the upliftment of cinema.
