Karnataka High Court allowed darshan to travel nationwide amidst the case of Renukaswamy murder

Bengaluru: An accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, Kannada actor Darshan, in a major relief, the Karnataka High Court on Friday allowed him to travel across the country.

Earlier, Darshan was not allowed to travel outside Bangalore and the boundary of the session.

Darshan’s lawyer said that as the Supreme Court is also looking at the case, his client has to travel to Delhi and other places.

Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna Kumar argued that bail was sought by Darshan citing health reasons and now he wants to travel across the country.

However, the court allowed Darshan to travel across the country.

Darshan, his partner Pavithra Gowda and 15 other accused produced before the Bengaluru local court on 25 February as per the conditions of bail. However, the other accused claimed that they were being given “pressure” to approval by the police.

Advocate Sunil, appearing for the other accused, was presented in the court that the police were “pressurizing” their customers to approve.

“The case should be fought on qualification by the police, there should not be pressure,” he said.

The court further said that if a petition is filed in this regard, it can be taken. The court postponed the case on 8 April.

Darshan, Pavithra, and 15 others were arrested on 11 June 2024 on charges of kidnapping and Renukaswamy, a fan of Chitradurg, was brutally murdered.

Renukaswamy allegedly sent derogatory and obscene messages to Pavithra, angry at the fact that Darshan maintained a relationship with her despite being married.

After spending 131 days in custody, Darshan was released from jail on October 30, 2024.

Sources close to Darshan revealed that Pavithra competed with Darshan’s wife, Vijayalaxmi on jewelery and luxury cars.

He allegedly pressured the philosophy that he was seen with his wife.

Pavithra and Vijayalaxmi also had public spats through social media posts, which inspired fans of philosophy to take favor.

Renukaswamy, who supported Vijayalakmi, criticized Pavithra according to police findings, which eventually caused his cruel death.

The Karnataka Police has challenged the darshan in the Supreme Court and the bail given to others. On January 24, the apex court issued notice to Darshan, Pavithra and five others in connection with the appeal petition filed by the Government of Karnataka, in which a sensational fan was granted bail in connection with the murder case.

While granting bail, the court asked him and other accused to appear in front of it every month in the case.
