At the moment, Kavin seems to be the darling of Tamil social media; Anything related to them is bound to go viral. Offline is also the producer of his upcoming film starAt the film’s press meet, he is called “the next big thing in Tamil cinema”.

Just minutes after all that praise, I’m in his hotel room and watching him order vegetable rolls, before we sit down to talk about his film. “What’s in Veg Rolls?” i ask. “Inniku Kovil Ku Ponen (I visited a temple earlier today),” says a smiling Kavin, clearly unimpressed by the buzz he has received. “My goal has always been the same and that’s something Nelson (director) Anna taught me; To be happy in our daily life. The rest is just a Friday thing.”

The young actor further adds, “If I spend 50 days on a film, the agenda is to keep myself calm during its making and be passionate about it only till I complete the promotions. I think if we are detached from a film, its success or failure will have very little impact on us. Success is paramount and we strive for it from day one, but the end result is not in our hands. This is my biggest wish right now star to do better than Bapu,

Excerpts from an interview:

Is it that easy to stay grounded?

Whether it’s money or anything else that I’m getting, they’re all byproducts of the work that I’m doing. My personal life is completely different from these. I hang out with my 10 friends who I play PlayStation with. The idea is to stay away from phones and other gadgets. At one time, I wondered if I could buy a new bike and I didn’t even dare to imagine buying a car. But today when it happens, I realize it is because of doing something right.

We watch movies and series in other languages from around the world. But what piques our interest is content that is new. BapuFor example, if we had removed the subplot involving the child it would have been a simple love story.. I’m in no rush to try everything, but there should be variety. The idea is that whoever comes to watch my filmography after a few years should feel that ‘Try Indha Paiyaan Elame Pannirukan’ (This guy has tried it all).

When you do a film like ‘Star’ which is about a person’s life journey, there will be scenes that will remind you of what you have gone through. Was it a trip down memory lane or did you have to relive any bad memories?

That pain really came back; Deep inside, it will always be there. There’s a scene where my character goes ‘Indha Munjiya Neenga Papinga Da’ (You will see this face again). Although we may not have said this out loud to anyone, we definitely have such feelings within ourselves. Such moments help me perform naturally while doing similar scenes.

You said you used the Hindi film ‘Sanju’ as a reference for ‘Star’, and another film that comes to mind is ‘Vaaranam Aayiram’. Experienced actors acted in both these films. Why did you choose ‘Star’ at the initial stage of your career?

That was the question in the beginning and later I realized that the answer was also the same; I felt that doing such a story as my fourth film adds value to my filmography. I was confident that I could accomplish this too.

my next film(bloody beggar) is with a director with whom I have discussed many stories over the years. When he came to me with a different story about a decade ago, I asked him why he told me that story; In fact, I told him the names of actors I thought would be a better fit. Although we trust each other, we also needed a producer who could trust us on such a script.

‘Star’ looks like an intense and emotional film with a lot of scope for him to grow as an actor…

Yes, that’s one of the reasons I accepted the film. I have a certain level of confidence in what I know and what I can do. But I can’t just put it out there; It needs the right platform. star I realized that this was a film with which I could prove my potential.

It’s been more than a year since ‘Dada’ was released, so why such a long gap?

bloody beggar Is ready. i knew star It will take eight to nine months to complete. This is the story of a man’s life from childhood till now. I calculated it in such a way that I should do two films parallelly. My film with dance choreographer Satish (in this directorial debut) and Anirudh sir’s music is also turning out well. Based on this, I will plan my future commitments.

For someone who is just starting out, this is all new to me. I want to focus on only one film, and we have seen many others who have failed by signing multiple projects simultaneously. If that’s the case with me, imagine how it would be for the stars who have given us consistent hits and garnered huge fan followings.

I worked (as an assistant director) Animal And I saw how long this process takes. Be it Attlee Sir, Nelson Anna or Loki (Lokesh Kanagaraj) Anna’s Given the scale of the films, shooting is scheduled to take at least six months. I’m not sure if I can stick to the deadlines I set for myself bloody beggar Will definitely be out this year.

As an emerging actor, what is your opinion about the current stardom?

It is like the stars we see in the sky; They’re there one day and gone the next… only to reappear later (Smile, It is a volatile profession. Cinema has been around since it was invented… but not all the people who were there when it started are still active today. Cinema Dhan Enna Kapatudhu; Namma vandi ippo oduthu, petrol therura varaikum odite irupane (Cinema is what is saving me now and keeping the wheels turning; I will keep running until the fuel runs out). That’s my only goal.

star To be released in theaters on May 10
