“(There’s a) thinking that we can check these little boxes, and then take away patriarchy, and how we’re all made of it. It’s easy for them to say, ‘Look what we’re doing. We’re making a Maggie Gyllenhaal movie! We’re making a Margot Robbie movie!’ And you say, okay, great. You picked four,'” Kristen said, referring to Greta Gerwig’s $1 billion-grossing satire Barbie last year, in which Margot served as lead actor and co-producer. He also mentioned fellow actor-filmmaker Magee’s upcoming sci-fi horror film. Shock to the bride!

However, she also quickly added that she is intimidated by these women. “And I’m amazed by those women, I love those women [but] It looks fake. If we’re congratulating each other on broadening the perspective when we really haven’t done enough, we stop being broad,” she said.

Kristen, who is preparing for the release of her directorial debut The Chronology of Water, has been quite vocal about the financial hurdles she faced in making the film.

When Kristen wanted to work with Greta Gerwig

The Love Lies Bleeding star said in a recent episode not thin but not fat Podcast that making a superhero movie “sounds like a…nightmare.” She said that she would “probably never” star in Marvel films unless asked by a specific person.

He said, “The system has to be changed. You have to have so much money and so much trust in one person… and that doesn’t happen. And so what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal about it at all. “But maybe the world will change,” Kristen added, noting that if Barbie director Greta Gerwig asked her to star in a Marvel movie, “I would do it.”

Kristen will next be seen in Sacramento and the vampire film Flesh of the Gods.
