Lady Bird actress Saoirse Ronan secretly married her co-star Jack Lowen in Edinburgh

Secret marriage

According to Sunday IndependentThe four-time Oscar-nominated actor exchanged wedding vows with Jack last weekend in his native land. The wedding ceremony was attended by only a few close friends of the couple and all guests were sworn to secrecy.

Guests were requested to keep the details confidential to avoid being noticed by the paparazzi. The Scottish Civil Marriage Register confirmed they were officially married.

The actors have been very private about their relationship. Last year, rumours of their engagement were sparked when Jack posted a picture of the Little Women star’s hand, which had a diamond ring. However, the actors have not yet commented on marriage.

More about the couple

Saoirse began dating Jack in 2018. They met on the set of the film Mary Queen of Scots and sparked engagement rumours in July last year. The couple recently partied with celebrity friends at the Glastonbury Festival. She also shared a loved-up photo of her watching a performance with Normal People star Paul Mescal.

In Mary Queen of Scots, Saoirse played Queen Elizabeth I opposite Margot Robbie. Jack played Mary’s second husband Lord Darnley. It turned out to be a blockbuster. Saoirse is also known for her roles in Atonement, Brooklyn, Lady Bird and Little Women. She is the second youngest person to be nominated for four Academy Awards, behind actor Jennifer Lawrence.

Meanwhile, Jack is best known for starring as Nikolai Rostov in the miniseries War & Peace and has had roles in the Apple TV+ dramas Slow Horses, Small Axe and the true crime drama The Gold.

Saoirse and Jack currently reside in Islington, North London, where they live in a £2.5million residence.
