As voting for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections began, veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal performed his democratic duty by casting his vote at a polling booth in Mumbai on Monday morning. Rawal was among the early voters of the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

After casting his vote, Rawal spoke to the media and stressed the importance of participating in the elections. Raval urged citizens to take responsibility for their civil rights, saying, “Then you will say, the government doesn’t do this, doesn’t do that… If you don’t vote today, you will be responsible, not the government.” Duty.

Rawal also suggested implementing penalties for those absent from voting. “There should be some provisions for those who don’t vote, like increase in taxes or some other punishment,” he said.

Earlier in the day, several Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor were also seen displaying their commitment to the democratic process at their respective polling stations in Mumbai.
