Mani Ratnam to screen seven classic films in Mumbai

Seven of Mani Ratnam’s 28 masterpieces will be on display from January 24-26

Mumbai’s G5A is hosting a retrospective of iconic Indian film director Mani Ratnam. Curated by G5A’s Cinema House, the three-day retrospective, scheduled for January 24-26, 2025, will celebrate Ratnam’s rich oeuvre and extraordinary contribution to the cinematic form.

The retrospective showcases Ratnam’s remarkable journey across five languages ​​and 28 films, screening seven of his most influential works. The films are produced by directors Bejoy Nambiar and Nikhil Advani, lifelong devotees of Ratnam’s cinema. Retrospective, renowned cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran will highlight the visual language of Ratnam’s films through his collaborations with Ravi Varman, Rajeev Menon and Santosh Sivan. Each screening will be followed by an exclusive discussion with the cinematographers who helped shape cinematic masterpieces.
