New Delhi: Zee5 has unveiled the spine-chilling trailer for Andhar Maya, its first Marathi horror original series, set to premiere on 30 May. Set against the terrible and atmospheric background of the Konkan region, the series explained a disturbing story of a family return to its ancestral home.
Directed by National Award winner Bhimrao Maud and produced by Sharmisha Raut and Tejas Desai under Ericon Telefilms, Andhi Maya explained the acclaimed Kishore Kadam in a mysterious role that promises to be one of the most emotionally complex performances till date. The series is written by Pralhad Kudkarr (story and dialogue) and Kapil Bhopatkar (screenplay), and promises a deep immersive horror experience.
The story follows the Khatu family as they return to their ancestral Wada in Konkan for the final ritual. However, what begins as a traditional homecoming starts quickly in a psychological and supernatural nightmare. As the time loops and family members begin to disappear, the house itself seems to be awake with a terrible willpower – the attainment of your own in terrible fashion. The narrative blur the lines between memory and myth, reality and confusion, emotion and fear.
