Matt LeBlanc has reportedly turned into a recluse as he wants to escape the pitfalls of fame that claimed the life of his close friend Matthew Perry. The actor is currently living a clean life and staying away from the drugs that are so prevalent in the industry as he works to protect his sanity. His only drawback in this lifestyle is his smoking habit.

Matt LeBlanc is living a lonely life
Whenever life gets a little tough, the actor takes a step back from everything, like he did when Friends spin-off Joey went off the air just after its two seasons. A decade after the show ended in 2006, he revealed in an interview, “For years and years, I barely left the house. I was burnt out. Most actors call their agents and say, ‘What’s going on?’ I’ll call mine and say, ‘Please lose my number for a few years.'”
Perry’s death has further intensified Matt’s isolation, Radar Online reports. The actors who played best friends in the 90s TV show were close friends in real life too. Both of them live close to each other in the posh area of Pacific Palisades. He was also the first person to visit Perry at his home after her death last October. Matt was deeply affected by her death.

Matt LeBlanc brushes off retirement rumors
Last week, The Man With a Plan shot down talks about him leaving the acting industry. His agent dismissed rumors of his retirement as “nonsense”, reports the Daily Mirror. Last month, news outlets reported that Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston are checking in on Matt regularly.
A source told the media outlet that Matt is “spending a lot of time with Matt at her house… cooking for him, or just hanging out and watching movies, or sitting and talking ” She has also stopped once or twice. And both she and Kourtney have been keeping in touch to make sure at least one of them is around to keep an eye on her. His friends are worried that the actor will drown in grief with no further projects.
In a 2012 interview, Matt shared that he is very different from his character Joey Tribbiani. “People will always ask me if I’m OK, because I’m a lot more reserved and collected than my character on Friends,” he said. She added, “They think I’m depressed, or I’m sad or upset – but I’m not ready to go in front of an audience and do a TV show. That’s not who I am.”
