Mukesh Khanna, known for his iconic portrayal Shaktimanrecently revealed that he turned down Yash Raj Films’ offer to sell the rights to Aditya Chopra’s beloved superhero character. While the actor has admitted this Pushpa 2 While star Allu Arjun could potentially be a suitable choice to lead the Shaktiman reboot, he made it clear that he cannot support Ranveer Singh for the role, despite the actor’s considerable talent.
During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his YouTube channel, Mukesh Khanna shared that Aditya Chopra’s team had reached out to him asking for the rights of Shaktimaan almost a decade ago. He shared that he immediately rejected their offer and said, “Ten years ago, I was approached by Aditya Chopra’s group. They asked me if I could give them the rights of Shaktimaan.”
Mukesh Khanna also mentioned that around the same time, a fan-made image of Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan had surfaced on social media. “At that time, coincidentally, a fan-made picture of Ranveer Singh as Shaktimaan surfaced on social media. And then, suddenly, I got this call for the rights. I said, ‘Adhikar nahi dega main (I will not give the rights. Give) .” The veteran actor made a counter offer. “I told him, ‘Tell Aditya, whoever he is, if you want to make it, make it with me.’ I just didn’t want to give them the rights to make a disco drama. I said no.”
Mukesh Khanna said that Allu Arjun could be a suitable candidate for the role of Shaktimaan. “I think I should watch more films of Allu Arjun. Also, let me also say that he has the potential to become Shaktimaan. I am not saying that he is doing this or anything. I Just suggesting it would look good on them,” he said.
However, Mukesh Khanna made it clear that he was not confident about Ranveer Singh playing the iconic character. He concluded, “An actor can do all kinds of roles, but Shaktimaan is not just any role. It is not enough to be an actor to play Shaktimaan. You have to have the right face.
