Continuing the cryptic and then full-blown hints she previously dropped about the completion of her fifth studio album, Halsey has once again stopped time by suddenly releasing a new announcement.
On Monday, June 3, the ‘Closer’ singer shared the cover art for the first single from her upcoming fifth album. With less than 24 hours until the audio release, Halsey took an unprecedented turn by debuting ‘The End.’ Her ironically titled track is set to release tomorrow, June 4, at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET.
The much-anticipated announcement was released on her and Columbia Records’ social media profiles: “I’m releasing the first song from my 5th album tomorrow 6/04 at 9am PT/12am ET. Before the first single comes out, I wanted to share this. It means a lot to me and I love it so much. Let’s try something different this time and start with “The End”.”

Her latest revelation comes after a secret website called ForMyLastTrick was revealed last week. Though initially simple, the page’s mysterious layout displays a single illustration that transforms into a collection of old photos when clicked. Each piece appears to be a clue indicating the theme of Halsey’s next album.
At the top left corner of the page, ‘The End’ stamp is clearly visible. Once you click on it, a letter from “June 71” will open. And thus, another message from the ‘Bad at Love’ singer will be revealed.
It begins: “Original Draft 1/7/71
“Hi, it’s Halsey. It’s been a while.”

Following this, she confirmed that she has indeed written a new album. However, the ‘Graveyard’ singer “took some time to figure out how to say what I need to say. You see, I’ve been holding myself back… and I need to get it out.”
The portion highlighted in black hinders the visibility of the entire message.
Later, she writes, “There’s a lot I’m going to reveal on this record, but you need to know a bit of the story first. So before the chaos and confetti of the big singles and album releases, let me just tell you, my friends, why it all matters this time.”
Then confirming that she’ll be dropping a new song “just for us” on June 4, Halsey signed off with a final note similar to today’s message: “Let’s start at the end.”
