Jishanu Harindra’s Sophomore film Paranu Paranu Paranu ChelanWhich releases on 31 January, is special in many ways for composer Ramnath. Ever since Hariharan and Reshma Raghavendra sung by Solful Love Track, ‘Charushle’ came out, the musician has been told about the praise on her way.

“The film holds a special place in my journey as a music composer,” says composer who has scored for a film in Hindi (Anya2021) And Malayalam (Talent tutorial2024). “Later, I tracked a Hindi. Hence ‘Charushel’ is my first Malayalam song. I was given creative freedom as a musician and Arranger and was also allowed to choose the singers, ”says Mumbai-Base Ramnath, who has now been in the industry for 10 years.

The composer says, “To top all this, I can cooperate with Hariharan Sir, one of the best singers in the industry. I made debut as a musician with the project, Experience the spirit of India In 2011, he was one of the singers. The film’s director Jishanu produced that album. After that I worked with Hariharan Sir in some independent presentations. The song gave me a dream to work on a song, which showed her artistry and my vision as a musician. ,

Ramnath says that Reshma, who rises for fame with her song, in ‘Ney N Thayi’ Markarkar: Arabicakadalinte SimhamA stage show was heard singing with Hariharan. “The song was ‘O Dilruba’ and I liked clarity in his voice,” he says. The Tamil version of ‘Charushel’ also stars Hariharan and Reshma.

An attraction of the raga is its rich orchestation. Ramnath says that he wanted a separate soundscape for the song and therefore a lot of instruments were depicted which are not commonly used in Malayalam songs. Ramnath says, “There are sarangi, shehnai, harmonium, ukulal, mandoline, string, flute etc.. I traveled to different parts of the country to record artists.”

The song is written by Deen Nath Puthanchri, son of Girish Puthanchari, one of the famous lyricists of Malayalam. “He wrote the song after the tune was prepared. Their lines were perfect for composition; We did not need to make any changes, ”he says.

Ramnath, who lives from VaiCom in Kottayam district, moved to Mumbai after studying audio engineering and music production in Chennai. Apart from Hariharan, his first project, Experience the spirit of IndiaSingers were Shankar Mahadevan, Naresh Iyer, Chinmai, Harini, Palakkad Shriram and Rupa Revathi. He then brought out many independent presentations. He currently runs a Sangeet Academy, Voice Culture Academy in Mumbai.

Musician is excited about his entry into Tamil Oscar, A music, directed by debut Jaikrishnan. “I have composed nine songs for the film and scored the background,” he says.

Parannu Parannu… Unni Lalu and Siddharth Bharat starring are another song composed by Jint Joy and veteran Vidyadhar has sung a traditional song.
