Billboard has announced its latest World Albums chart for the past week, and the undeniable and indomitable fury of K-pop music is unquestionably leading the list.
The week ending May 18 welcomed SM Entertainment boy group NCT Dream’s sixth mini-album, Dream (Scape), to the World Albums Chart. The septet’s latest musical piece joined the list after its physical release in the United States on May 3. Its original release in Korea and on digital platforms was given on March 25.
NCT Dream’s flashy entry on the chart heralded the homecoming of a different group name on the music chart that had been filled to the top with HYBE Corporation names for so long.

HYBE label artists on the World Albums Chart
Seventeen’s latest best-of compilation, 17 Is Right Here, debuted at No. 7 on the chart last week. However, the 13-member boy group’s grand album compilation has overcome serious competition and reached No. 1. The boy group has also scored a major win on the Billboard 200 chart, as their latest record entered the Top 5.

Girl group ILLIT, NewJeans and Le Sserafim again maintained their positions on the World Albums Chart this week. ILLIT’s debut mini-album, Super Real Me, slipped from the previous week’s second place to the number 5 seat during its seventh week on the scoreboard.

Le Seséraphim’s third mini-album, Easy, also peaked at number 6 on the chart in its twelfth week, just behind ILLIT.
Newzines’ second mini-album, Get Up, slipped from number 6 to number 8 in its 42nd week on the World Albums Chart.
BTS’s 2022 anthology album Proof completed its 100-week charm on the chart and moved up from 10 to number 7. The group’s members, J-Hope and Jimin, sat at the last rank of the top 15 table. The former’s special album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1, claimed the 14th spot for its sixth week, while Jimin’s solid debut album, Face, closed at the 15th spot on the chart during its 53-week time period.
Their industry junior, Enhypen, reached number 12, completing a 25th week for their fifth mini-album, Orange Blood. Meanwhile, rookie boy group BoyNextDoor sat at the preseason rank of No. 11 for their second mini-album, HOW. In its third week.
In addition to HYBE artists, JYP Entertainment’s groups TWICE and Stray Kids also maintained their positions in the top 15. While the former girl group’s 13th mini-album reached number 10 on the chart for the 11th consecutive week. With U-tha, Stray Kids’ eighth Korean mini-album, Rock-Star, charted at number 13 during its 26th week.
