The South Korean girl group Newfan, which features Minaji, Hanny, Daniel, Herin and Hyen, received a new court direction after a legal dispute with its agency Edor on Friday (March 21), a division of Hybe Corporation.
In November last year, the Newsians announced that they would cut relations with Ador. The girl group also named it to NJZ. The decision was made to contract their termination after the newsians accused the record label of misconduct. The members expressed disappointment at the agency to force the CEO of former Edor to forcing them to withdraw from their position.
Back in January, Ador filed an prohibition against Newjeans to try to sign independent deals without its approval. Now, the Seoul Central District Court has given its verdict against the band. According to court documents, attempts to get out of the ador of the New Zains and change their name in Enzzed can “severely damage” the Label reported by the BBC.
The court said that the news of the newsians “sufficiently failed to prove that Ador violated its important duties as part of its contract.” It states that Ador has performed “most of its duties including payment”.
Additionally, the court stated, “If (New Zains) unilaterally abolish the contract, the ador will suffer a lot. And if (New Zains) starts activity under a new name, it can severely damage not only the brand of Newly, but also Ador’s reputation.”
The court’s verdict has put a sheath of uncertainty around the release of the upcoming song of the news to premiere on Sunday (March 23).
