The funeral of One Direction star Liam Payne took place on Wednesday. The singer died last month after falling from the third floor of his hotel in Buenos Aires.
Liam Payne’s funeral took place in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, northwest of London. The late singer’s bandmates Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik, who were part of the band One Direction, were among the mourners at the funeral, according to new photos shared by Reuters. In the pictures, Harry was seen arriving in a BMW with friend and TV star James Corden. Both of them went straight inside the church. Zayn also joined his former bandmates by wearing black.
Holding the service order in his hand, Louis looked distressed. X Factor judge Cowell also arrived with his fiancée Lauren Silverman. Liam’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy was also present at the funeral. His former partner Cheryl, with whom he has a son, was also seen.
Liam’s coffin arrived at the church on a white horse-drawn carriage. The hearse contained a floral tribute for the late singer with the words ‘son’ and ‘daddy’ written on it.

A joint statement shared by One Direction after Liam’s death and signed by the four bandmates said: “We are absolutely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. Over time, and when everyone is able, there will be more to say. But right now, we will take some time to mourn and grieve the loss of our brother, whom we loved so much. The memories we shared with them will be cherished forever. Right now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him along with us. We will miss him dearly. We love you Liam.”
Liam’s death was ruled to be the result of multiple injuries from a fall, with preliminary toxicology reports revealing the presence of substances. Liam went to South America to support Niall, who was touring to promote his third studio album, The Show.
