Hyderabad: Popular playback singer Kalpana Raghavendra denied on Wednesday that she attempted suicide at her Hyderabad residence. Kalpana Raghavendra told the police that she took an overdose of insomnia bullets at home as she was unable to sleep due to differences with her daughter on her education.

According to KPHB police, Kalpanna Raghavendra and her husband have been living in a house in KPHB’s Nizampet for the last five years. Kalpana Raghavendra told the police that there was a difference of opinion between her and her daughter Daya Prasad on March 3 as she wanted her child to study in Hyderabad but refused.

The police quoted Kalpana Raghavendra as saying that she arrived from Ernakulam on Tuesday (March 4) and was unable to sleep despite all efforts. “I took eight bullets but were still unable to sleep. I took another 10 bullets and became alert. I don’t know what happened after that, “he said.

According to the police, Kalpana’s husband Prasad alerted the colony Kalyan members, as he did not respond to his phone call. Colony Kalyan members informed the police, who reached the colony. They opened the door and found it unconscious in the bedroom. He was then transferred to a nearby hospital. Police said the singer again achieved Chetna and told them that she does not attempt suicide.

He also told the police that no one was involved in the incident and took a lot of sleep pills after a dispute with the daughter on her education.

Kalpana’s daughter told media persons in the hospital that her mother did not attempt suicide, but she took a minor overdose of insomnia bullets due to stress. “Please do not manipulate any information. Our family is completely fine. My mother and father are happy. I am happy My mother is completely fine. She will return in a few days, ”said Daya Prasad.

Kalpana, who started her career as a singer at the age of five, has recorded over 1,500 songs in various languages ​​including Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil.
