Still from ‘Ponman’
The first impression can be difficult to change, but in Ponman Most of our initial assumptions about characters go wrong, as it is in thought-written films. This change is not brought about misleading writing or staging of scenes, but it gradually manifests us in the organic generosity of the plot for another incident to another. Nor has there been changes obtained through a quick whitewash job of the characters that we had toughly justice, but continuously by giving us pieces of small information that will understand us in a better perspective.
Central concern about the debut direction of acclaimed art director Geothish Shankar PonmanGR is based on Indugopan’s novel ‘Nalanchu Cherupakkar’, dowry. But instead of the perspective of shameless dowry seekers or families, it is forced to borrow heavy for the weddings of their daughters, the film reaches it through the eyes of an agent that provides gold jewelery with the help of financials, He is gifted to the family during marriage and collects money. This is a task that is as niche as it can be and Ajesh (Tulsi Joseph) appears to be a cut-threatening master, until we know him better.
In fact, we know almost all of them better, as well as round characters are given the right shape before our eyes by changing circumstances. Steffi (Lijomol Jose) turns from a shy but unworthy bride, which takes an unexpected, adventurous turn, only to take a more fine, human stand when she better understands the plight of her opponent. Bruno (Anand Manamadhan), his brother’s arc, a warm-headed, violent political activist extends from a helpless person who easily loses his enthusiasm for life. For Steffi’s husband Mariano (Sajin Gopu), we get more than the easy depiction of a brute husband.
Ponman (Malayalam)

Story: An agent that provides gold jewelery to families with financially assistance and collects the funds gifted for extreme measures to recover their money during wedding resorts
Offer Ponman Is immense. But they did not maintain the film alone. The script written by Indugopan and Justin Matthew is punctured by remarkable events – one of which is inside the dingi lodge room, a shrimp in the field and yet another in a house where a wedding is still held. The film is maintained through the rhythm that receives in its initial stage, initially pushed by a mild to polite exchange and by intense dramatic encounters towards the end.
Weaks that changed Oru Thekan Thalu CaseAnother interesting Indugopan story film adaptation, not visible in one affair PonmanWith better screenplay writing, some credits have to go to cinematographer Sanu John Varghese and music director Justin Varghese. Not to forget, prominent actors, especially the performance of Tulsi, which draws a role that is nowhere near his comfort field.
Ponman A progressive message against dowry and unhealthy passion with gold could easily turn into another film. But what we get instead is an entertaining, non-judicial study of characters, most of which are victims of social unhealthy. Ponman Gold is worth its weight.
