Mumbai: Several Bollywood celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Hansal Mehta have condoled the death of Indian journalist-turned-director Pritish Nandy, who died on January 8 at the age of 73.
Kareena, who starred in the 2004 film “Chameli”, produced by Pritish and daughter Rangita’s Pritish Nandy Communications, shared pictures from the sets on her Instagram stories to pay tribute to her producer.
In one picture, Kareena is seen talking to Pritish in between shots. She captioned the pictures with red heart, folded hands and infinity emojis.

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta Wrote a note for Pritish on the X, which read: “Sad, sad news. My most personal work has lost one of its greatest patrons. Stay well Mr. Nandi. Will miss you a lot. Deepest condolences to the entire family.”

Sharing a monochrome picture of Pritish, actor anil kapoor He said he was shocked to learn about the demise of his dear friend.
Anil wrote, “Shocked and saddened by the demise of my dear friend Pritish Nandy. A fearless editor, a brave soul and a man of his word, he displayed integrity like no other.

It was the evening of January 8, when the veteran actor Anupam Kher Confirmed the news of Nandi’s death due to cardiac arrest.
The actor reached out to his ex and shared a note in memory of the late director. He shared two monochromatic images of the late director decades apart.
Anupam wrote, “Deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandi! Amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist. He was my support system and a great source of strength during my early days in Mumbai.

He further explained, “We had a lot of things in common. He was one of the most fearless people I have met. Always larger than life. I learned a lot of things from him. We did not meet often for some time. But there was a time when we were inseparable! I will never forget when he surprised me by getting me on the cover of a magazine and more importantly #TheIllustatedWelky. He was the true definition of yaaron ka yaar! I will miss you and the times we spent together, my friend. rest well. #heartbroken”.
Pritish Nandy, who was born in a Bengali family in Bhagalpur in the state of Bihar, identifies as an agnostic.
He was a multifaceted personality as he was also a painter, poet and producer. He also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha, representing Maharashtra. He was elected as part of the then united Shiv Sena.
