Raashi Khanna recently expressed her excitement and gratitude after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised her film The Sabarmati Report.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, the actress shared, “I was thrilled and really did not expect such an overwhelming support. Tweets from chief ministers and other influential people like Prime Minister Narendra Modi were incredibly encouraging. It has had a significant impact and the momentum has been steady. Cinema Day is on 29th November, tickets are priced at Rs. 99. Do you think this would benefit your film at all! For those who have not seen this film, this is a great opportunity to watch it in theatres. It’s like a bonus for the audience and I hope they take advantage of it.”
When asked about preconceived criticism of her film, she replied, “All I would say is watch the film before forming an opinion. Those who have seen it understand that it is not propaganda. In the film, Raashi played the role of fearless journalist Amrita Gill.
Meanwhile, Rashi, who will turn a year older on November 30, celebrated her birthday by planting saplings with 100 children.
Speaking about the same, the actress said, “Actually, this year I am celebrating pre-birthday. I plan to go to Varanasi with my family to visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Earlier, since I plant trees every year, I thought of doing something bigger this time. I contacted Sahar from the Bhamla Foundation, which is deeply committed to environmental issues. He suggested the idea of planting trees with children to teach the next generation about the importance of taking care of the environment.
“For the last four years, I have been planting trees on my birthday. But I also have a tradition of organizing satsang at home every year. I am deeply spiritual, and celebrating with God has always been important to me. I have been doing this for the last ten years. This year, I planned a pre-birthday celebration as I will be in Varanasi on my actual birthday. My focus has always been on staying connected to God and inspiring others through small actions in recent years. I realized a few years ago how much influence actors have.
