The biographical drama promises to be an honest portrayal of the extraordinary life of Savarkar, highlighting his tireless struggle against British colonial rule.

Directed, co-written and co-produced by the talented Randeep Hooda himself, the film stars an impressive cast of Randeep Hooda in the lead role and Ankita Lokhande as his wife Yamuna Bai Savarkar. Viewers can stream Swatantra Veer Savarkar from 28th May exclusively on ZEE5.

Swatantra Veer Savarkar is an authentic biographical drama that narrates the life journey of the most feared Indian revolutionary of all time, Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. He is one of India’s most influential but controversial figures in the freedom struggle and yet little is known or written about him in popular culture. He is actually the originator of ‘Hindutva’ and ‘Akhand Bharat’ and the inspiration behind great leaders and freedom fighters like Netaji, Bhagat Singh and Khudi Ram Bose.

The film tells Savarkar’s story entirely from his perspective, fearlessly adopting his ideals and beliefs that were initially controversial but eventually made their way into the framework of modern India.
