Directed by Sean McNamara, the film traces Ronald Reagan’s journey from his humble beginnings in Dixon, Illinois to his fame in Hollywood and ultimately his presidency during the tumultuous era of the Cold War.
The 176-second trailer shows off quite a bit from the film, beginning with a former Soviet spy named Petrovich (Jon Voight), now ninety years old, telling his memories of Reagan (Dennis Quaid) to a young Russian leader. The story takes viewers to 1922, when eleven-year-old Reagan faces an early crisis that sets the stage for his future endeavors with becoming president during the Cold War between the United States and Russia.
Reagan It also stars Penelope Ann Miller, as Nancy Reagan, providing a poignant glimpse at their enduring partnership; Mena Suvari, as Reagan’s first wife Jane Wyman; Lesley-Anne Down, as iconic British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher; David Henrie, as a young Reagan; and Kevin Dillon, as Hollywood legend Jack Warner.
Reagan The film was in the making for several years, but its release was delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the actors’ strike.
Despite these setbacks, the release of the trailer has reignited excitement for the film, and promises a compelling portrayal of one of America’s most influential presidents. Reagan It is scheduled to release in theatres on 30 August.
