Musician Ricky Cage talks about his latest album Break of Dawn being nominated at the Grammys 2025.
Musician Ricky Cage is ecstatic after receiving his fourth nomination at the Grammys. Having previously won it in 2015, 2022 and 2023, Ricky Cage is as excited as he was when he was nominated for the first time.
The album nominated this year is Break of Dawn.
“Each nomination, each win for a different project is exciting. This is just like saying that if there was a fourth child they would be just as excited about it! As time goes on, with each project, you feel you get a better understanding of the world. All my music is cause and issue based. As with every progressive album I do, I think this is my best work yet. It feels absolutely amazing to be appreciated for this,” says the 43-year-old.

Further asked if awards and nominations make any difference to one’s career, she quipped, “Of course. In my opinion it’s all a stage. A lot of people say ‘I don’t care about awards, they’re useless’ I’m not that way of thinking at all. Simply because I believe the art of creating without rewards in mind is important. It is important for it to be pure. When you win an award for art, one should be grateful because it gives you a platform to do bigger and better things, collaborate with musicians to create better music and learn from them. This allows you to spread your message more widely.”
