Nargis started her career as a child artist in 1935 with Talash-e-Haqq. Due to this, she appeared in many films and became one of the greatest actresses of her time. Nargis left this world on May 3, 1981, four days before the release of Sanjay Dutt’s debut film Rocky. He was suffering from a deadly disease like cancer.

Saira Bano has written that my dear mother has overseen my entire existence in a beautiful world. I am indebted to Allah for what He has given me in life. We were a family of 4, my grandmother Shamshad Abdul Waheed Khan, her sister Khursheed Begum, Appaji and my brother Sultan Ahmed.

Saira further wrote that I am talking about the angelic face Naseem Bano ji, the first female superstar, who started her grand series of accolades with the historic invitation of Sohrab Modi. where she played the role of Rani Noor Jahan. I remember greats like Dilip Sahab and Amitabh Bachchan, when asked about the most beautiful woman, they clearly named Appaji.

The actress further wrote that at the tender age of 16, my mother had to take on the role of taking care of the family and this trend continued throughout her life. He did a wonderful job everywhere and taught me and my brother in day schools in London and after finishing school we came back to Bombay and wanted to do films instead of studying further. He always emphasized our indigenous roots. We traveled all over the world, but spent most of our vacations in Bombay and Delhi to stay true to our traditions.
