The story of the film
The story of Surfira is based on Veer Jagannath Mahatre which shows how a middle class man from a small village in Maharashtra dreams big of starting a low cost airline. Veer believes that one has to take responsibility to bring about change and end oppression. He then joins the Indian Air Force after a fight with his father and quits that too and thinks of starting his own airline.
review
Watching the story of Kangra, you yourself will get emotional along with clapping. The hero’s journey is highlighted and celebrated in the film. Pooja Tolani’s dialogues are not that special, but still will make you a bit emotional. Even a little humor will make you laugh. The screenplay that Kangara has written with Shalini Usha Devi becomes a bit convoluted, especially when it switches between different timelines like when Veer was young, his struggle with his father or his marriage proposal and then in the present day. changes
The flashbacks in the film are confusing, but Akshay’s appearance helps a bit so you can understand the scene.
performance
Akshay has seen such a performance on the big screen after a long time. Although his style was seen in Rakshabandhan and Mission Raniganj, the way he has come out in Surfira will leave you impressed. The charm that Radhika Madan adds to the character is successful. Paresh Rawal has played the role of villain in the film, but he could not do such a job. The face off between her and Akshay was also less visible.
As a whole
The second half of the film gets a bit long. However, because of the narration, cuts and editing of the film, you will be hooked to the film. Ignoring this, the story of the film is quite good. In the end you will feel happy and proud to see Veer’s achievement. It is a perfect family movie. There is a surprise for you at the end of the movie that you must watch.
