Saroj Devi’s funeral will be organized with full state honor: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah paid floral tribute to mythological actress B. Saroj Devi, who died at her residence in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru. The 87 -year -old actress died on Monday (July 14, 2025) due to age -related disease.

He said, “From my side, and on behalf of the Government of Karnataka, I pray to his soul to rest peacefully and to bear this loss for strength for his family members.” Siddaramaiah also announced that the honor of the state would be given at his cremation.

His funerals will be performed on July 15, 2025 in Channapatna Taluk in Mandya district in his original village Dhashwara.

Talking to reporters after paying tribute, the Chief Minister described his death as “a big loss for the entire film industry”.

“B Saruja Devi entered the film industry at a very gentle age and served it for nearly 70 years. At a young age, she earned the title of ‘Abhinya Saraswati’ and became a multi-talented actress, who worked in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films,” said Sidramaya.

Saroj Devi brought life in the characters that she portrayed and acted with leading actors of her era, in which MG Ramachandran, NT Ram Rao, Shivaji Ganesan, Dilip Kumar, Dev Anand, Rajendra Kumar, Akineni Nejswar Rao and Dr. The prince was involved.

The Chief Minister also said that Saroja Devi had contributed immensely to the development of the Kannada film industry. He also remembered that Saroj had met Devi on several occasions.
