The Bharathanatram demonstration by Sathvika Ranganathan, a disciple of Uma Satyanarayanan, was marked by the auspices of Sri Thayga Brahma Gana Sabha, in Vani Mahal, by alkari and chapalata.
The dancer started his recurrence based on a traditional route with a wreath in Natai. Thodudaiya Seviyan ‘, the first Thavaram composed by Thiramambandar, when he was just three years old, which was also done as part of the Invocherry number, established the mood of the entire performance.
In the next line, Lalguri Ji Jayaraman had a Vernam ‘Inmune N Manam’ in Charuksi. Choreograph by Chitra Visvesvaran was the central piece of Varnaam evening performance. The heroine called Krishna, ‘Oh Yadav, O Madhav’ asked him if “what is the way you behave, you know my mind.”
Uma Satyanarayanan, who is a student of Chitra Visvesvaran, has created her guru’s style in her disciple. It came through Sathvika’s crisp footwork and soft swing movements.
This was followed by a jawali by a jawali by Pattabhiramayya. Javalis is songs with Sringara or Love as the main theme. Characters – heroes, heroines and sakhi – often indulge in playful banquet. Here Sathvika portrayed a heroine, who expresses her grief to her Shikhi to be subject to unwanted defects because her inadvertently acts misrepresented people and called her fickle-mind. This piece was taught to Sathvika by Hyderabad’s previous Guru Hemamalini Arni. Sathvika’s acting Proves came under depiction of a Mughayika.
Moving towards Sritsara Rasa, Sathvika depicted the love shown by Little Ram’s mothers in the Tulsidas Bhajan ‘Thumak Charat Ramchandra’, popularly popular in Hindustani Rag Gara. Bhajan enhanced the beauty of learning Little Ram to walk. Lalguri Ji Jayaraman’s closing piece in Madhuwanti was the closing piece.
Ahiyara leads a long way to make Abhinaya dance more effective. Someone’s attention changes with dance when the dancer performs the slightest discomfort in Ahiyara or dress. Which took place in recurrence of Sathvika. In addition, the young man can do well by accelerating his Narata and bringing more intensity to his expression.
Orchestra, led by Uma Satyanarayanan in Nattuvangam, played an important role in increasing the appeal for the performance. Singer Janani Humsini needs to appreciate every song for extraordinary rendering. Sujit Naik on the flute, Nandini Sai Giridhar on Violin and Dhananjay on Mridajam were equally good.
