Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha will be cremated with full state honors today in Patna, Bihar, at the same place where her late husband Brajkishore Sinha was cremated a few months ago. This is even more significant as Sharda’s last post in memory of her late husband has gone viral after his death. In Sharda’s last Facebook post, she had shared a picture in which she was standing next to her husband Brijkishore. His granddaughter was smiling sitting in Brijkishore’s lap. Sharda had shared this post a few days after Brijkishore’s death and had mentioned her last meeting with her husband.

“I met him last on the evening of September 17. Before leaving I told him, ‘I will return in three days, please take care of yourself.’ He said, ‘I will be absolutely fine.’ May you stay healthy and return soon. He was looking at me the whole time. Who knew this was our last meeting?” Sharda wrote in the caption.

“I still feel his presence. My children, Vandana and Anshuman, still feel that their father has gone out for work and will return soon. This is a picture of our last meeting. The silence and his absence haunt me Killing it. In the picture, you can see his teary eyes with his granddaughter and me assuring him, ‘I will come to you soon.’ ‘I will come soon, maine bas yahan kaha tha unse (I will join you soon, this is what I told him)” she added.

Sharda Sinha breathed her last

An AIIMS Delhi official said the folk singer died around 9.20 pm on Tuesday due to shock resulting from ‘septicemia’. According to an official statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that the last rites of the Padma Bhushan awarded singer will be performed with full state honours.

Sharda Sinha, popularly known as “Bihar Kokila” for her melodious renditions of folk music, was admitted to AIIMS Delhi and was undergoing treatment in the oncology department of the hospital. The singer was battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, which has significantly impacted her health since 2018.

He breathed his last on the first day of Chhath Puja, a day that was especially significant for his fans because of his iconic Chhath Mahaparva songs.
