Sharmila Tagore went down memory lane during a panel discussion to honor the legacy of legendary singer Mohammed Rafi.

Mohammed Rafi sang more than 7,000 songs in various Indian and foreign languages ​​throughout his career. This year is his hundredth birth anniversary. He died in 1980 at the age of 55. He received a National Award for the evergreen track Kya Hua Tera Vaada from Nasir Hussain’s 1977 film ‘Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahi’. Mohammed Rafi was also awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1967.

Sharmila Tagore was last seen in Rahul V Chittela’s family drama Gulmohar last year. She will next be seen in Suman Ghosh’s Puratavana, marking her return to Bengali cinema 15 years after Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Antheen (2009). The film premiered at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival last month.
