Shruti Haasan and her bands are rehearsing in preparation for their live concert in Hyderabad on 28 March. “I couldn’t do live music last year because I was busy CoolieI am waiting for a giggling soon after wrapping the film. Hyderabad will also have a Deccan project in Live Gig, titled Shades and Silhoutes. Shruti appreciates the music of the band and says, “When I was performing in the UK, I was excited about who was performing in front of me, because I started.”
Music lovers can expect their independent English singles such as ‘Monster Machine’, ‘her’, ‘age’, ‘A Hero’ and her Tamil single ‘Inimel’. “There will also be songs that I have not released on my YouTube channel, but of which people are familiar with my Instagram feed.”

Asked if she plans to release an integrated album, Shruti says that at the moment she is focusing on singles in various subjects. “In the future, perhaps I will come with a concept-powered album. Single now work for me. I believe in Japanese thought that everything is connected to a red thread and hope that it applies to the diverse music that I am working to.”

Shruti admitted that independent music scenes are a different ball game from film music. “The numbers are very different. I want to reach the level where music can be a self-financial nutrition business for me. Ideally I would prefer to work on music six months a year. I realize that my strength lies in live performance.”
She hopes to perform in other cities including her hometown Chennai. “As a teenager, I will listen to music at The Anind Center and chill out in the parking lot. Meeting other metal heads, it felt as if we were part of a powerful secret society.”
