Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2.0 has undoubtedly created a frenzy among fans of Indian TV soap. Ektaa Kapoor’s reports reported bringing the show back on the TV screen for a limited series, in which the original lead pair Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay have encouraged fans as Tulsi and Mihir. The TV show first broadcast in 2000 and fans entertained and bowed for eight long years, set up a new benchmark for the TV show. However, is the show coming back? No official announcement has been made from Ektaa or Balaji Telefilms, but the media has not stopped speculation since the first report came out.
While the show’s runner and his team chose not to divide any details when we approached them, a highly placed source of the TV industry had some interesting details to share. Asked if there is any discussion within the TV fraternity about Kyanki 2.0, the source said, “You think Ekta Kapoor will launch Kyki … such a shortage of such a shortage? There will be some signs, some discussion, some very big event. It is a legacy. It is a legacy. Mihir (immortal) and Tulsi (Smriti Irani).
When we reported that there is never a smoking without fire, something can be developed, the source said, “If unity is really bringing Kyki Saas Kabhi Bahu Ghee back with Smriti and Amar, and if she is not officially making this announcement, it’s a strong reason. The same is to catch her horses.”
Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi broadcast between 2000 and 2008. The family entertainer spoke about family subjects, relationship dynamics, upbringing among others. The show provoked Smriti Irani’s career and gave her a domestic name before he joined politics long before. Apart from Amar and Smriti, the show also starred among others in Apara Mehta, Hiten Tejwani, Aman Verma, Ronit Roy, Mouni Roy, Sudha Shivpuri.
