Taylor Swift brought gifts to her Erasure Tour concert in New Orleans on Saturday night. The orange-clad singer announced that the rules for her surprise set had changed. This means that she will not be singing any of her own songs, but singing for surprise guests. He then broke into Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso song and the crowd went into a frenzy.

Sabrina Carpenter joins Eras Tour as surprise guest
Before playing the song, Swift told the enthusiastic crowd of 65,000 in attendance, “I think tonight I’m going to do something completely different, which is I’m going to sing a song that’s not mine, But it belongs to someone I really love.” Seeing the reaction to the song, the savvy songwriter said, “So do you really love that song as much as I do?” She added, “I know I’m just hitting a goal because I love my friend and I’m so proud of Sabrina and the year she’s had.”
Swift then picked up her phone, put Carpenter on speaker and said, “I’m somewhere really loud, I’m in New Orleans on the Eras Tour.” She continued, “I just wanted to call you and tell you that I sang a little bit of ‘Espresso’ and he said every word so loudly. And I just wanted to say that we all love you so much. What are you doing? Why aren’t you here with us?”
“I’m in a place where everyone is screaming so loudly,” the Please Please Please singer replied. Swift responded, “I’m in a place where people are screaming so loudly.” How long will it take you to park the ball?” Carpenter replied, “It’ll probably take me five seconds” and the crowd cheered. However, when the Espresso singer appeared on stage and walked up the catwalk to her position they broke into cheers. Stunned, as reported by USA Today.

The two pop singers harmonize, beginning with an acoustic version of Espresso. “Holy sh** New Orleans,” the latter said after finishing the first chorus. Swift then asked “Can I do it?” “I’m working late because I’m a singer,” she added, referencing the first line of the song’s second verse. He then sang his part of Is It Over Now and then Please Please Please from Carpenter’s album.
He concluded the program by expressing his gratitude to the guest of the night for his performance. “She literally had a day off,” the Blank Space singer said. “She’s on tour. It’s crazy that she came to perform for us. Would you please leave it up to Sabrina Carpenter?” And with that the carpenter disappeared onto the stage.
Swift turned to her piano to begin the set, a mashup of Hits Different and Welcome to New York.
